The weekend recap.....

Well, Samantha didn't have a bad time watching the kids on Thursday - Thank god!!! I was worried that they would all be tied up to the mailbox when Joe got home.

Saturday, Joey had his first baseball game. Joey is Number 7. Here are some pictures.....

The day was so warm - the first warm day of the year - I had Joey all bundled up - long sleaved shirt, sweat pants under baseball pants. Halfway through I had to start stripping him.

After the game, Joe and I went to a wedding. Thank God the kids were good again for Kelly.

So...considering I was a terrible Mommy twice in one week - we all went to the park today - we had such a good time - until Joey fell off the balance beam and slammed his head against a step (He has a HUGE goose egg on his head - he looks like a Vulcan)....Here are a couple of pics....

1st Day of Baseball....

Joey's first day of baseball went pretty well. He froze his tush off but that is ok. The game for Saturday was cancelled - some personal issues with one of the coaches. His next practice is Monday but the weather is supposed to be crappy - so that will probably be cancelled as well.

He tried on his uniform - Youth Small and it is still too big on him - he looks cute though!

Doctor's appointment

Took the babies for their doctor's appointment today.

Nicky: Nicky's blood work came back fine. He is 21lbs 5oz and 32 inches long - which means he grew a whopping 4 inches and gained two pounds. Nicky is in the 90th percentile for height and the 25th percentile for weight - Doctor said he is doing great!

Jenny: Jenny's blood work came back fine as well. She is 17lbs 3 oz and 30 inches long - which means she grew 2 inches and gained one lb since her last appointment. Jenny is in th 50th percentile for height but she is below the chart on weight - she has only been 3rd to 5th percentile since she was born so the doctor is not worried that she fell slightly below the chart- she has a feeling that she will continue this trend for some time - especially because she is constantly on the move.

They each got two shots - Prevnar and Chicken Pox.

I have to bring them both back when they turn 15 months.

Joey has a banner weekend this weekend:

Tonight - Birthday party for his cousin James.
Tomorrow - work with me in the morning - birthday party for his friend at 4:00pm.
Sunday - My sister Kelly is taking him to the movies!!! He is going to sack out on Sunday night!!!!!

That's it - I have to feed the babies and then we are off to Chuck E. Cheese!!!!

On the mend

Well, we are all on the mend - Thank goodness. Still a little stuffy but we are getting better. Thank goodness for the nice weather - I have been able to get the babies out in the fresh air a few times.

I just got a new double umbrella stroller - they seem to like it.

Nicky still refuses to walk. Yesterday, I was holding his hands and walking him around the living room - we went around twice and then he was done.

Jenny grabs my hands and starts walking all over the living room with me - even though we all know she does not need my help! She is definately a pip!

Joey is doing much better too - and for some reason - he has been such a sweet boy since he got sick - hopefully it lasts.

I haven't taken many pics lately - all kids were too green - but I will post some updated ones soon.

Scratch that....

Joey and I came down with the full blown flu yesterday. So all five of us are sick. Joe and Jenny are almost over it. Nicky is in between and Joey and I are still in the thick of it. I (can you believe it) even called in sick to work yesterday - I was driving to work and realized that I was about to pass out behind the wheel. Of course, I am here at work now.

The twins finally ate something yesterday - which was a relief. When Nicky is sick - he still is pretty pleasant or he just sleeps. Jenny cries the whole time. Since she is so tiny - when she is sick and limp it is more scary - she seems so fragile. Even though I know she is the toughest out of us all.

Joey woke up yesterday with a fever and he said his legs and his forehead hurt - then he went back to sleep until 10:30am - the whole day he only got up to go to the bathroom - so you know he was definately sick.

He was sleeping when I left this morning but he didn't feel hot.

Joe said the babies were up a few times last night - thankfully he let me sleep right through because I was sick. Good man. Good man.

Joe, Nicky and Jenny ALL have the flu!!! The babies are so sad - they just lie there all day whining.

I told Joey to pretend they all have the cooties and stay AWAY - I don't need him to get sick too.

I am fighting it off pretty well - downing medicine and drinking alot of water.

Here are the pictures of the babies in their Valentine's outfits. They didn't come out very good - and of course - Nicky took his pants off!!!!

Nicky seems to be getting better. He is rubbing his ear less and his nose isn't running as much. So he should be good for Sunday.

Jenny is better too. I taught her how to drink from a straw yesterday. I tried to teach Nicky as well but he just wanted to bite it!

Joey is a little under the weather. He is complaining about his ear but I don't know if it is because it really hurts or if he wants the bubble gum medicine - He hasn't had an ear infection EVER in his life- so I think it may be a coincidence that he is getting his first one at the same time as Nicky.

I have to upload pictures of the babies from Valentine's Day. My boss Linda gave them Valentine's outfits.

Nicky had a red and white sports jersey that said "Handsome" on it.

Jenny had a little denim coverall dress with hearts on it and a pink shirt - they both looked so cute.

Being a mom can be gross....

Ok - up all night last night - Nicky has another ear infection - in total got about 2 hours sleep.

This morning Joey did a "shart" before school. On the way to the bus stop - he did it again. Needless to say, I let him stay home where the trend continued. Major underwear laundry today!

This morning - Jenny was lieing on the floor crying - I went over, picked her up and asked her what was wrong. She smelled like she went to the bathroom. I changed her diaper and her poop was compacted in her butt - I basically had to dig it out. No wonder she was crying.

I repeat. Being a mom can be gross.

They had a nice day yesterday. They ate star cupcakes and opened all of their toys - I will get some pictures of them playing soon.

Nicky still has a cold. Jenny seems to be over hers. Hopefully Nick will be better by Sunday.

I think....

Nicky took his first steps yesterday. I am not sure if he took two steps or he was trying to catch up with his fall - Joey saw it and yelled "Mommy, Nicky took his first steps!" So it is not just me who thinks so.

I will let you know if he does it again so it will be official.

Jenny is officially a walker now - she walked from the living room, into Joey's room and back again - so I am about to be dead meat!

Joey has his 100 day celebration on Wednesday - they are having a parade and everything. They have alot of things at his school - Oh well - can't pretend that I don't love it!!!!

OK - will update on Nicky when I have more info!

New things

Jenny's new thing is when you say "Aye yi yi" she puts her hands on her face and shakes her head. It is kind of funny when she does it.

She has been trying out some new words. She says Da and Mama pretty well and her new word of the week is "Up". She doesn't say it on her own but she will repeat you.

Jenny is also walking like crazy - she tries to walk now before crawling anywhere - it is so weird to see that tiny little thing walking - she still looks 6 months old!

Nicky is standing on his own now. It is so cute...when he stands up we all yell YYYEEEAAAHH - but if we don't do it fast enough - he starts yelling "aaaaaaaaaa".

He is also doing this fake cry thing if you tell him no. I will say "Nicky - Nooo" and he looks at me, scrunches up his faces and just says "wah ah ah" - he says it - not cries it. What a drama king.

This morning when Joey and I were leaving we said "Bye Nicky" and he started crying and put his head on the ground - it was so sad - he sure loves his big brother.

Joey is as punky as ever. He went to the book fair the other day - I gave him a $20 check and he spent every last penny - and - get this - didn't buy one book! He bought some dumb dinosaur toy for 18 bucks!! He was so proud of himself. He said "Mommy, I went to the book store and didn't buy even ONE book!" Like it was a good thing!

He is starting to read and getting pretty good at recognizing his "sight" words - he has some trouble with some of them - he gets lazy - he will see an "S" word and then just start rambling off all the S words he knows. That is usually when we take a break.

He has "Blizzard Day" at school tomorrow - I don't really know what that means except that he has to wear winter "accessories" and they will be singing in the gym. I will try to take video if I get to go.

Then tomorrow night it is "Parents as Reading Partners". Both Joey and I have to go to the school in our pajamas and we read together - should be interesting.

Baby Updates

I took the babies to the doctor yesterday.

Jenny is 16lbs 4 oz and 26 inches long - just eeking in the 3-5th percentile.

Nicky the bull is 19lbs 6 oz and 28 inches long. He is 25th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.

New things:

Nicky:

The doctor finally gave Nicky antibiotics - he had fluid behind his ear - and today he managed to not have a runny nose for about 20 minutes straight - he is also breathing so much better - even Kelly noticed tonight.

Nicky has started standing on his own - he doesn't take steps yet - just does the fall forward and expects someone to catch him!

He gives hugs like crazy - if you say "Nicky aaawwwww" he puts his arms around you and squeezes tight!

I could have sworn he said "mine" the other day when he grabbed something out of Jenny's hand - but I was probably imagining it.

Nicky still needs a haircut....I am going to have to break down and do it....I guess once you can do this......



It is probably time to get it done.

Jenny:

Jenny is taking more and more steps every day. She is climbing on and off the couch like a pro.

The other day, I was brushing Nicky's hair - I put the brush down and she picked it up and started trying to brush her own hair - it was pretty cute and gave me a glimpse of things to come.

Jenny has been very affectionate lately. If you are sitting on the floor she will walk up behind you and put her head on your back.

She is also a little dancer - whenever she hears music or you sing she claps her hands and bounces up and down - too cute.

I got Jenny's hair in pigtails the other day. I didn't get a chance to take a picture with them in but I did take one of her after I took it out.......

I don't know, Maybe it is just me.

Joey:

Joey is doing really well in school. He is learning to read and it breaks my heart that he is getting so big....but I am so proud too.

He starts baseball in a few months and can't wait. He "practices" every few days.


Matthew has been over a few times in the past couple of weeks - so he has been happier than a pig in....well, you know!

Well - that is the update. In case anyone is wondering.... We are waiting to celebrate the babies birthday until after Anthony gets home.....so if you don't get an invite around their birthday....don't be pissed - it is coming...probably the first or second week of March.

TOOK HER FIRST STEP YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!

Sunday night, my sister Terri was babysitting - and when we picked the babies up - Jenn crawled over to me and then climbed up my leg and stood up. To everyone's surprise - she let go and stood by herself for about 5 seconds.

Monday night - she did the same thing when I came home but stood on her own for about 30 seconds.

Last night - did the same thing but when she stood on her own I said "ok, come on mama" and she took her first step towards me!!!

Any day now she is going to be walking all over the place - boy am I FUCKED!

Parent / Teacher Conference

I had my parent/teacher conference for Joey yesterday. Before I even sat down she said "Joey cracks me up every day - he is always so happy and helpful!" At which point, I looked down at the paper to make sure she had the right kid! Only kidding.

Anyway, he is exactly where he is supposed to be - I just need to work with him on his phone number and address. The teacher said that she can't imagine that he will have any problems with the school work going forward. That is it - short sweet and to the point!

Jenn did a triple lindy off the bed last night - I guess that is what she gets for wanting to play after midnight! I think she was just startled - because she calmed down pretty quickly.

Nicky is letting go when he stands up - and he is starting to walk along things now - like the couch to the chair -

I have to take them for a well visit next week - that is it - pretty slow goings right now.

I got the pictures done on Sunday - what a comedy of errors that was! Have you ever seen the movies where one baby is going one way and the other is going another- well that is EXACTLY the way it was. These are the only pictures we could manage. My appointment was 11am - I didn't get out until about 1:00!!!!!

Both babies are doing great - Jenny is clapping her hands when you sing the song in Italian. Nicky is letting go ALOT when he stands up - so any day he is going to take off.

UPDATE

Both Jenny and Nicky are standing up now - Jenny started about 2-3 weeks ago - Nicky stood up in his play pen today. They are getting so big. We got this walker toy that they hold onto and walk around the living room (actually it is from Joey's collection) They both are getting the hang of it really quickly.

Banner fucking weekend.....

Should I say that on a baby blog?? Well anyway,

• Jenny got her first tooth - it came in yesterday.
• Nicky pulled himself into a sitting position from lieing down.
• Nicky REALLY started crawling - hands and feet - now I am screwed!
• Jenny pulled herself up to a standing position on the couch Saturday - she is hardly taller than the couch but she was so proud of herself!
• Both have started to go to town on solid foods feeding themselves the little veggie puffs, I gave them cut up noodles and the ate them up. Nicky even took a bite out of Joe's bagel yesterday.

Terri and Robin say that I am out of control. Maybe - but I figure I have two years of being able to pick their costume and then they will start expressing their own opinion. I will post pics when I get the costumes.

JOEY DID AWESOME TODAY!!!! ONE DAY DOWN FOUR TO GO!!!! AMAZING WHAT THE KID WILL DO IF HE KNOWS HE WILL GET SOMETHING FOR IT!!!!

Joey had one moment of indecision but then he said "Mommy, I will just give you a kiss." He gave me a kiss and then when right on the bus like a big boy. So just a few more hours until my stomach knots up again for tomorrow.

Well, that was what it was like today getting Joey on the bus. I repeat - LIARS EVERY ONE OF YOU!

I am going to wallow in my mother's guilt now.

First Day of School

Well, everyone lied. Everyone said "Oh - he will do fine" ; "Oh -Joey is so sociable - he will have no problems"; "Oh - you will be worse than he is"

LIARS - EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU IS A LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So - Joey wouldn't get on the bus....wait - scratch that....he got on the bus - and then burst out crying and had to be taken OFF the bus!

So, I agreed to drive him to school - guess what? Major meltdown at the school - before I left - and then (as detailed by the School Social Worker when she called me) AFTER I had left!

He did take the bus home though - and he was all smiles and light. I had to bribe him with Chuck-E-Cheese in the morning - which he held me to.

He tried to pull the same thing this morning but without the crying - I promptly turned him around and gave him a shove on his butt....It is about one hour before he gets dismissed and no calls from the Social Worker thus far - so we shall see.

I took the babies to the doctor today. Nicky is 16 pounds exactly and Jenn is 14 pounds 3 ounces. I may have to take Jenn to the dermatologist for her hemangioma because it is irritated and starting to really bother her. I have to do three days of bacitracen (spelling?) and then call the doctor on Monday to let her know how it is - if it isn't any better than I have to take her to the derm.

Jenn's motor skills are more advanced than Nicky's. No surprises there...she is definately her mother's daughter. The doctor is impressed with Jenn's abilities and wrapped around Nicky's finger b/c of that smile.

They each got a shot...Nicky didn't even cry - he winced a little and then gave the nurse a big smile. Jenny, well she screamed her bloody head off!!!! How two babies can be made at the exact same time, be carried for the exact amount of time (save for two minutes) and be raised exactly the same and be TOTALLY different is beyond me!

Christening

The Christening was a great success!!!! The babies slept through practically the entire ceremony!

Joey's first yankee game

We went to the Yankee game yesterday - Joey's first ever. Yes, I know they lost but it was so beautiful out and Matty and Joey had a great time. My boss gave me tickets - he has season box seats that are about 10 rows up from the field...very very nice!

Joe was excited about the train but nervous the first time he was on the subway because there were so many strangers around. By the time we got on the A train to go back to Penn he was an old pro - hanging on to the pole and shifting with the train!!!

I took some pictures of pretty much every part of the day except the train ride home because Matthew, Joey and I all fell asleep - something about the east bound LIRR - it is like a freakin' sleeping pill!!!!

Jenny's first ponytail....

Well, I have been waiting for this for 5 long months....I finally was able to get her little hairs in a ponytail.........(Click Here)

It took me twenty minutes to do but I finally got it. Boy, if Jenny had hair like Nicky I would be able to get her hair into pigtails! You don't believe me? See for yourself!

Doctor's Appointment

Growing like weeds.....

Nicky is 15 lbs 5 oz and 27 inches long - he is 50% in weight still and90% in height - my big boy!

Jenny is 12lbs 8 oz and 25 inches long - she is plugging along at the 10% level - Hey together they make 100%!!

Both babies got two shots and were a little sleepy today - but not that sleepy! They go back next month for another well visit.

Joey got his 2nd MMR today - he cried a little this time - I guess it hurt more than the shots he got at his last appointment. I said what a good boy he was and he said "No I wasn't - I cried!" Too cute.

We go to see Jack and the Beanstalk tomorrow so that should be fun -

OK - quick update because I am exhausted and Joey want me to sit with him and watch Animal Planet - hope everyone is doing well.

Pictures! I know - these are the most photographed kids on earth!!!!

Both Jenny and Nicky did end up getting sick - Jenny was the worst - all she did was scream for 3 days straight - Joe and I were walking around in a haze since we got ABSOLUTELY no sleep. One night each of them were getting up every half hour - unfortunately, they were about 15 minutes apart -which meant that we were getting up every 15 minutes -

I have to say - the worst part of having twins is that it never ends - just when you finally get one down, the other one is up - it definately keeps you on your toes.

They have a doctor's appointment next Thursday - Joey has to get his physical for school as well - and then he will need 3 shots!!! We told him about it - he said it was no big deal.

Funny story:

I was feeding Jenny the other day and Joey said to me "Mommy, I don't like those peaches - they are melted!!"

Day After Graduation

I know it has been so long!!

Well, let's see - what's new with the babies???

They started sweet potatoes the other day. Both are turning over kind of regularly - Jenny more than Nicky. I think we are going to have to break down and put them into the crib because Nicky scooches over to Jenny EVERY time they sleep - no matter how many times you move him he always ends up lieing practically on top of her. Of course the ice princess keeps her head turned the other way! She is more and more like me every day.

4th of July was really nice - we went to Kelly's house (Thanks!!!!). The babies were so good - the fireworks didn't scare them a bit. I have some pics of 4th of July and just messing around There are also pictures of the beach - we went for about an hour the other night.

The babies will be 5 months old soon - their next appointment will be sometime next week - I have to call. Joey will need a physical for kindergarten that day (sniff) as well. Should be interesting!

Today

The babies had their 4 month well visit today and Joey had his Preschool graduation...very busy day.

Stats on the babies:

Jenny - 11 pounds 2 1/2 ounces - 23 1/2 inches long - she gained one pound 4 oz since her last appointment and grew 1/2 an inch.

Nicholas - 13 pounds 6 ounces 25 inches long. Nicky gained one pound 8 1/2 ounces and grew one inch since his last visit.

Both babies are doing great and she was impressed how strong they had gotten on their stomachs - that would be b/c they sleep on their bellies but I didn't tell her that.

Oh - good news - I can start them on cereal! Too bad I started them about 3 weeks ago - oops! I guess that means in another two weeks I will start them on fruit!

Joey did AMAZING today at his preschool graduation - he sang all the songs and did all the dances. I have posted video below.


In less than three months he is going to be off to kindergarten - don't even get me started or I will be crying on the keyboard!

Hope all is well - side note - working on the Christening - I was actually thinking about just going and getting it done next weekend since Anthony is going to be down - I don't know if I will be able to get in there though - we shall see and I will let everyone know - just be on alert!

Nicky rolled over twice yesterday - They do everything at just around the same time - just a few days apart - it is crazy!

Both of them are babbling like crazy and I am not sure but I think I feel Jenny's two bottom teeth coming in - which would be around the same time Joey started getting his teeth.

Both babies are eating cereal every night and both are sleeping from about 6pm to 4:30am - I got so lucky - I have such good babies!!!!! (I am not bragging or anything - ha ha - yes I am!!!!!!!!!!!)

How the hell am I

going to make it through the first day of Kindergarten when I cried at the freakin' orientation????

Joey had kindergarten orientation today - we are not there 5 minutes and they took the kids out of the room - they showed them around WITHOUT the parents!!!!! Orientation lasted for 1 1/2 hours!!!!!
At the end they took a bus ride - So in 3 short months my baby will be a big boy - and I will turn into a big baby!!!

Matthew is here - they were playing school before - of course Matty was the teacher!!!!

Milestones

Jenny rolled over today - she actually did it for the first time yesterday but she was in the pack and play so I don't know if she meant it or not. This afternoon I put her on her belly and she did it twice - so it is official!

Still haven't decided when the Christening is - I think we have decided that we are just going to pick a day and then have a bar-b-que at Kelly's house afterward - just need to coordinate it with Kelly - sometime this summer for sure.

Terri and Robin - I will make sure I have the Christening BEFORE the babies are in Toddler outfits!!!! LOL

Kelly has seen it, not once, but twice - Nicky's Grandpa smile - I am not going crazy - even though Joeyboy says that ANYONE who says that ANY of his kids look liken ANYONE but him is crazy!!!!

It is 8:06, all kids have been sleeping since 7!!! Thank Goodness for Matthew who got Joey plum tuckered out!!!!!!

I am going to nap now!
