Mother's Guilt.....

Joey asked me last night "Mom, do you miss the old days before the babies were born?"

Because Mommy said so..

Well - since my mother basically called me out about the new pics
Here they are. Alot of them are blurry because Joeyboy was trying to hold Nicky while he was taking the pic.

Same old Same old going on here...Jenny is sleeping through the night - Nicky isn't but he does sleep for a nice 5 hour stretch - so that is a good thing. Jenny has started on eye drops b/c she is still getting the crud in it - supposedly it is a clogged tear duct but my question is - if it is clogged - why does so much stuff come out of it???????

I have to go - babies are crying for me and Joey is bugging me to play Noggin!

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a nice Easter! Thank you again Donna for the brunch - Joey had a really good time and was excited to see the Easter Bunny (He was even more excited about the candy!)

The babies were basically up all night on Saturday - I am such a bad Mom - I forgot to put Joey's Easter basket out before I conked out! He woke up about 7am and asked me if the Easter Bunny came - Good thing I am a quick thinker - I told him that the Easter Bunny probably hid everything outside! Then I snuck outside and hid his presents all over the property - he was none the wiser - thank goodness!!!

The dress that I was going to put on Jenny was still too big - but one dress actually fit her - it was a white dress with tiny little purple flowers - she looked so pretty! I will post pics of her soon.

The rest of the day was uneventful - we all napped together and then watched the Sopranos (side note: when the hell is that show going to get good - I am starting to get bored!)

2 month doctor's appointment

Well, we had the babies' two month appointment today. Dr. Schwartz was on vacation so we saw Dr. Lustic - he said both babies looked great. We had thought that Jenny had a cold in her eye but it is a clogged tear duct - all we can do is keep cleaning it out - it seems like it is getting better anyway.

Nicholas gained two pounds and now weighs 10lbs 8 ounces. He grew one inch and is 22 inches long.

Jenny gained 1 lb 7 oz but grew two inches. She is now 8lbs 10 oz and is also 22 inches long.

They both got two shots each - they did pretty good - just cried for a little bit. Joeyboy was pissed because the nurse made him hold Nicky while she gave him the shot - he would rather have had him lieing (spelling?) down so that after the shot he could have picked him up to comfort him. Oh well - they have to go through the same thing next month!

Jenny smiled for the first time the other day at her Daddy - wouldn't smile for me at all - just Joeyboy. I finally got some smiles out of her yesterday and today.

Nicky isn't smiling yet - but you can tell that he will any day now.

Both babies are a little pissy today because of their shots - poor Joeyboy will have to deal with them by himself tomorrow since I started work again yesterday!

Thursday I am taking Joey to see Peter Rabbit at Theatre Three . Afterwards there will be an Easter Egg hunt. It should be pretty fun. I am thinking of taking the kids to see the Easter Bunny Sunday morning where my sister in law works - haven't decided if we will venture out with all of them for a breakfast - we shall see!

I have some more pictures of the kids that we took over the past few days. Seeing them all together - they look so much alike. I still can't believe they are all here!!!

She also hand embroidered like 6 bibs for the babies - I am almost afraid to use them during a feeding - they are so cute!

Also - Joey says that it is "very hard work being a big brother" - which I guess is why he fell asleep sitting in his chair......

Doctor's Appointment

Things are going pretty well so far. I am sure once they start getting more mobile it will become harder but for now we seem to be managing pretty well. The babies are on a schedule about 1/2 hour apart - so once we are done with one, the other is ready to eat - it works well when I am alone with them when Joe is at work.

Nicky doesn't sleep great at night but I think it is because he knows that Joeyboy will hold him while he sleeps if he makes enough noise at night.

Jenny is very mellow - she just hangs out and goes with the flow - definately her father's personality!

They had their 4 week doctor's appointment today:

Nicky:

Nicky is now 8lbs 8 ounces and 21 inches long. He has gained 2lbs 3 oz since his last appointment on 2/18/2006 and grown 1 3/4 inches. We were a little nervous because he still seems like he is snuffy at night and has a hard time breathing - The doctor told us that it is just because he has small nasal passages and told us not to label him as the "vulnerable child" since he was in NICU when he was born. She also reassured us that what happened when he was born has absolutely NO long term effects and to just put it in the past. It made me feel better but I still feel bad when it seems like he can't breathe at night!

Jenny is now 7lbs 3 oz which means that she has also gained 2lbs 3 oz since her last appointment. She now measures at 20 inches which is a growth spurt of 1 1/2 inches in 3 weeks!

Jenny has a small infection in her belly button which the doctor says is normal - she put some stuff on it which will stop the oozing. She has also developed a small umbilical hernia but it should clear up in a few weeks.

Finally, Jenny also has a hemangioma in her no-no place - basically it is tiny blood vessels that will continue to grow until she is about a year old and then will gradually fade away. At least it is covered by her diaper - I hope that it doesn't bother her too much in the year to come.


Joey is doing great and adjusting pretty well to having the babies around - he gets tired of waiting for us sometimes but he is very proud of his brother and sister. He showed them off to his Preschool teachers today. Speaking of Preschool Teachers - Miss Joanne said that Joey is a pure joy to have in class and is the happiest little boy she has ever met - She even went so far to ask if he "ever wakes up in a bad mood or is grumpy". Boy if she only knew how bitchy he can be when he wants! I guess if given a choice, I would rather that he was well behaved in public - even if that means he can be a monster at home! LOL
