Birthday Party...

Thank you to Robin for offering her house for the babies' birthday party! I hope everyone had a good time.

Thank you to all my sisters for helping to cook the food - everything was so good!!!!

Here are the pictures of the babies in their Valentine's outfits. They didn't come out very good - and of course - Nicky took his pants off!!!!

Nicky seems to be getting better. He is rubbing his ear less and his nose isn't running as much. So he should be good for Sunday.

Jenny is better too. I taught her how to drink from a straw yesterday. I tried to teach Nicky as well but he just wanted to bite it!

Joey is a little under the weather. He is complaining about his ear but I don't know if it is because it really hurts or if he wants the bubble gum medicine - He hasn't had an ear infection EVER in his life- so I think it may be a coincidence that he is getting his first one at the same time as Nicky.

I have to upload pictures of the babies from Valentine's Day. My boss Linda gave them Valentine's outfits.

Nicky had a red and white sports jersey that said "Handsome" on it.

Jenny had a little denim coverall dress with hearts on it and a pink shirt - they both looked so cute.

Being a mom can be gross....

Ok - up all night last night - Nicky has another ear infection - in total got about 2 hours sleep.

This morning Joey did a "shart" before school. On the way to the bus stop - he did it again. Needless to say, I let him stay home where the trend continued. Major underwear laundry today!

This morning - Jenny was lieing on the floor crying - I went over, picked her up and asked her what was wrong. She smelled like she went to the bathroom. I changed her diaper and her poop was compacted in her butt - I basically had to dig it out. No wonder she was crying.

I repeat. Being a mom can be gross.

They had a nice day yesterday. They ate star cupcakes and opened all of their toys - I will get some pictures of them playing soon.

Nicky still has a cold. Jenny seems to be over hers. Hopefully Nick will be better by Sunday.

I think....

Nicky took his first steps yesterday. I am not sure if he took two steps or he was trying to catch up with his fall - Joey saw it and yelled "Mommy, Nicky took his first steps!" So it is not just me who thinks so.

I will let you know if he does it again so it will be official.

Jenny is officially a walker now - she walked from the living room, into Joey's room and back again - so I am about to be dead meat!

Joey has his 100 day celebration on Wednesday - they are having a parade and everything. They have alot of things at his school - Oh well - can't pretend that I don't love it!!!!

OK - will update on Nicky when I have more info!

New things

Jenny's new thing is when you say "Aye yi yi" she puts her hands on her face and shakes her head. It is kind of funny when she does it.

She has been trying out some new words. She says Da and Mama pretty well and her new word of the week is "Up". She doesn't say it on her own but she will repeat you.

Jenny is also walking like crazy - she tries to walk now before crawling anywhere - it is so weird to see that tiny little thing walking - she still looks 6 months old!

Nicky is standing on his own now. It is so cute...when he stands up we all yell YYYEEEAAAHH - but if we don't do it fast enough - he starts yelling "aaaaaaaaaa".

He is also doing this fake cry thing if you tell him no. I will say "Nicky - Nooo" and he looks at me, scrunches up his faces and just says "wah ah ah" - he says it - not cries it. What a drama king.

This morning when Joey and I were leaving we said "Bye Nicky" and he started crying and put his head on the ground - it was so sad - he sure loves his big brother.

Joey is as punky as ever. He went to the book fair the other day - I gave him a $20 check and he spent every last penny - and - get this - didn't buy one book! He bought some dumb dinosaur toy for 18 bucks!! He was so proud of himself. He said "Mommy, I went to the book store and didn't buy even ONE book!" Like it was a good thing!

He is starting to read and getting pretty good at recognizing his "sight" words - he has some trouble with some of them - he gets lazy - he will see an "S" word and then just start rambling off all the S words he knows. That is usually when we take a break.

He has "Blizzard Day" at school tomorrow - I don't really know what that means except that he has to wear winter "accessories" and they will be singing in the gym. I will try to take video if I get to go.

Then tomorrow night it is "Parents as Reading Partners". Both Joey and I have to go to the school in our pajamas and we read together - should be interesting.

Baby Updates

I took the babies to the doctor yesterday.

Jenny is 16lbs 4 oz and 26 inches long - just eeking in the 3-5th percentile.

Nicky the bull is 19lbs 6 oz and 28 inches long. He is 25th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.

New things:

Nicky:

The doctor finally gave Nicky antibiotics - he had fluid behind his ear - and today he managed to not have a runny nose for about 20 minutes straight - he is also breathing so much better - even Kelly noticed tonight.

Nicky has started standing on his own - he doesn't take steps yet - just does the fall forward and expects someone to catch him!

He gives hugs like crazy - if you say "Nicky aaawwwww" he puts his arms around you and squeezes tight!

I could have sworn he said "mine" the other day when he grabbed something out of Jenny's hand - but I was probably imagining it.

Nicky still needs a haircut....I am going to have to break down and do it....I guess once you can do this......



It is probably time to get it done.


I know...we are the meanest parents in the world!











Jenny:

Jenny is taking more and more steps every day. She is climbing on and off the couch like a pro.

The other day, I was brushing Nicky's hair - I put the brush down and she picked it up and started trying to brush her own hair - it was pretty cute and gave me a glimpse of things to come.

Jenny has been very affectionate lately. If you are sitting on the floor she will walk up behind you and put her head on your back.

She is also a little dancer - whenever she hears music or you sing she claps her hands and bounces up and down - too cute.

I got Jenny's hair in pigtails the other day. I didn't get a chance to take a picture with them in but I did take one of her after I took it out.......











I'm sorry but doesn't she look an awful lot like.....








I don't know, Maybe it is just me.

Joey:

Joey is doing really well in school. He is learning to read and it breaks my heart that he is getting so big....but I am so proud too.

He starts baseball in a few months and can't wait. He "practices" every few days.


Matthew has been over a few times in the past couple of weeks - so he has been happier than a pig in....well, you know!

Well - that is the update. In case anyone is wondering.... We are waiting to celebrate the babies birthday until after Anthony gets home.....so if you don't get an invite around their birthday....don't be pissed - it is coming...probably the first or second week of March.

TOOK HER FIRST STEP YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!

Sunday night, my sister Terri was babysitting - and when we picked the babies up - Jenn crawled over to me and then climbed up my leg and stood up. To everyone's surprise - she let go and stood by herself for about 5 seconds.

Monday night - she did the same thing when I came home but stood on her own for about 30 seconds.

Last night - did the same thing but when she stood on her own I said "ok, come on mama" and she took her first step towards me!!!

Any day now she is going to be walking all over the place - boy am I FUCKED!

Parent / Teacher Conference

I had my parent/teacher conference for Joey yesterday. Before I even sat down she said "Joey cracks me up every day - he is always so happy and helpful!" At which point, I looked down at the paper to make sure she had the right kid! Only kidding.

Anyway, he is exactly where he is supposed to be - I just need to work with him on his phone number and address. The teacher said that she can't imagine that he will have any problems with the school work going forward. That is it - short sweet and to the point!

Jenn did a triple lindy off the bed last night - I guess that is what she gets for wanting to play after midnight! I think she was just startled - because she calmed down pretty quickly.

Nicky is letting go when he stands up - and he is starting to walk along things now - like the couch to the chair -

I have to take them for a well visit next week - that is it - pretty slow goings right now.

Joey came to work with me on Saturday.........

Portraits

I got the pictures done on Sunday - what a comedy of errors that was! Have you ever seen the movies where one baby is going one way and the other is going another- well that is EXACTLY the way it was. These are the only pictures we could manage. My appointment was 11am - I didn't get out until about 1:00!!!!!

Both babies are doing great - Jenny is clapping her hands when you sing the song in Italian. Nicky is letting go ALOT when he stands up - so any day he is going to take off.

I have Parent/Teacher conference next week for JOey - let's see how that goes.

UPDATE

Both Jenny and Nicky are standing up now - Jenny started about 2-3 weeks ago - Nicky stood up in his play pen today. They are getting so big. We got this walker toy that they hold onto and walk around the living room (actually it is from Joey's collection) They both are getting the hang of it really quickly.

Banner fucking weekend.....

Should I say that on a baby blog?? Well anyway,

• Jenny got her first tooth - it came in yesterday.
• Nicky pulled himself into a sitting position from lieing down.
• Nicky REALLY started crawling - hands and feet - now I am screwed!
• Jenny pulled herself up to a standing position on the couch Saturday - she is hardly taller than the couch but she was so proud of herself!
• Both have started to go to town on solid foods feeding themselves the little veggie puffs, I gave them cut up noodles and the ate them up. Nicky even took a bite out of Joe's bagel yesterday.

Terri and Robin say that I am out of control. Maybe - but I figure I have two years of being able to pick their costume and then they will start expressing their own opinion. I will post pics when I get the costumes.

Robin....I may need some help taking Jenny's in. The smallest size they had was 6-12 months.
